Why the name 14K Brewery?

The building will be constructed from a product manufactured by a company in Henderson called C4M (see form).
The product is essentially two concrete tilt panels sandwiching compressed and baled 4WD tyres (100 tyres in each panel). These fit together like leggo. The great thing about this product is that it fits in well with our sustainability philosophy for the business. The walls have an insulating capacity of up to R45 which will have an extremely positive impact on heating/cooling costs and energy used. The building itself will incorporate approximately 14,000+ tyres in it’s walls. This means we will also be preventing 14,000 tyres from ending up into landfill. Hence the name, 14K Brewery.

100 tyres are compressed and baled. tied up with tungsten wire.

The baled tyres are placed into the concrete mould and remain while the concrete sets. it is then integrated with the concrete as a single unit
